God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify your venerable servant Father Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present to return all Brother Knights and/or family members on the prayer list back to good health and fortune. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Please recite the following: Our Father - Hail Mary - Glory be to the Father

Mass with Bishop Burbidge and a picnic on the grounds of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Raleigh on Thursday, June 25 at 6:00 pm. And we are only days away from the national observance, which begins on June 21.
We invite you to spread the word and to participate in this 14-day celebration of our Freedom to Bear Witness to the values of our faith.
For more information and to watch a short video on our freedom to bear witness, visit our Fortnight for Freedom website. Be sure to read the statement from Archbishop Lori and check out the flyer from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops entitled Current Threats to Religious Liberty.
An excellent one-minute video A Call to Prayer for Life, Marriage and Religious Liberty, (posted on our Facebook page today) offers suggested prayer practices for the Fortnight. Prayer is the most important tool we have as we seek to protect our religious liberty. You may also sign up to get reminders from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops by clicking here and to access more prayer resources on these important issues.
Visit our Facebook page each day beginning Saturday, June 20, for quotes from Pope Francis on Religious Freedom.
We extend a special thanks to the Knights of Columbus, who are partnering with us in our Diocesan observance of this event on June 25. We hope to see you there!!
